My Cycling for Libraries Puzzle, part 2

On the afternoon of May 25th I washed the van and trailer at the street in front of my home. I headed to Turku City Library and met Ella and Mace there. We packed six more bikes in to the trailer and drove to harbor. Jukka, Jonas and Urpo Nylander were already waiting for us with the other van. We started to attach cyc4lib- etc. stickers in both vehicles and in the trailer.

At ferry gates we also met Kirjastokaista's bunch of young professionals: Tuomas Lipponen, Panu Somerma, Ate Silvo and Mikko Helander. The chef Pasi Niemi also had a place in their car. Everything went well at ferry check-in and after filling in the small cabins we gathered together for a light dinner and conversation. There was lots of excitement in the air, I can tell. We couldn't do any specific plans but it was clear that we'd drive to Kungliga Biblioteken (Royal Library)first thing in the morning after arriving to Stockholm.
In our cabin we couldn't stop talking about future of libraries, so I had to whistle a stop for it at 1.05 am. Just before that the name of Helle Kannila, the spiritual mother of Finnish public libraries and librarians, was mentioned.
May 26th
My phone alarm woke me up at 4.10 because it hadn't adjusted the time difference. So I tried to wake everybody else up as well. As for a heritage of this mishap I received the title of "the Awakener Man" for rest of the trip. I wish it wouldn't be that true, because I slept poorly ever since for the whole week.
Anyway, we had a massive breakfast at Viking ferry very early in the morning and headed to our vehicles at car deck. Morning sun gently warmed the windshields and our faces as we drove to Kungliga Biblioteken letting the navigators do most of the work. At Kungliga Biblioteken there was a warm welcome waiting for us, hosted by Ali af Shari. We took more refreshments and listened to him talking about his job and being an immigrant librarian in Sweden. We also had a conversation with Pirkko Vilhelmsson who has her roots in Finland. An interesting overlook was introduced by Mikael Petren, whose point was that digital library is not a fact, when it comes to public libraries. Anna-Stina Takala, a library advisor talked us a bit about Bibblan svarar (Library Answers) -service. Åsa Ekström from Biblioteksbladet (Library Journal) interviewed Mace to get our mission documented.
We left Kungliga Biblioteken about 10 am and headed south the route E4 (except me and my travel mates, because my navigator first leaded me north, luckily it took only 'bout 10 minutes for me to realise that...). We drove couple of hours and stopped at Mjölby for a longer stop. Finished the work with stickers there as well. Some film crew lads burned their skins in the sun.
No surprises for us on the road (though I saw remains of couple bad traffic accidents during the day) and we crossed the Kattegat strait of the Baltic Sea from Malmö and arrived in Denmark at 7.40 pm. Copenhagen welcomed us with light rain and silent evening. Some of us went to Danhostel and others found their beds at Sleep In Heaven. It was a bit late when we got rid of our backpacks and we were also hungry. Found a little pizzeria and enjoyed the greasy frisbees with couple of beers. More and more excitement in the air. At hostel reception we also met some of the cyc4lib participants who were overnighting there as well. Went to sleep around midnight.
Pictures, yes, later...
